This section provides information for environmental public health practitioners, public health nurses, housing specialists, and others who plan or perform healthy homes work. Because the healthy homes approach takes a more holistic view of health and safety conditions in homes, healthy homes workers need the knowledge and skills to address multiple ways to improve the home environment.

This section contains links to easily and quickly find healthy homes information. Priority areas include indoor air quality, drinking water safety, pest management and injury prevention. CDC’s Healthy Homes and Lead Poisoning Prevention Program focuses on childhood lead poisoning and other housing-related health hazards.
