CDC Vietnam improves provincial level laboratory quality management systems

With CDC’s technical assistance, the Vietnam Administration for Medical Services has been leading national efforts on strengthening the laboratory quality management and held a workshop held on March 17, 2015. In the 2-day workshop, chaired by Vice Minister Xuyen, participants (Directors of the departments of health, provincial hospitals and provincial laboratories from 15 provinces) reviewed and addressed challenges in implementation of the laboratory QMS at the provincial level, specifically after the issuance of the Circular 01 on QMS – the 1st legal document on QMS. They also discussed SLMTA successes in Vietnam and several DOH leaders express interest in expanding the program in their provinces with their own funding. The workshop has brought great attention to national media channels in recognition of MOH’s efforts in improving quality and efficiency of health services.
