Staff from CDC’s Division of Global HIV/AIDS (DGHA) are courageously fighting Ebola in affected countries as well as supporting the CDC Atlanta-based Emergency Operations Center which serves as the agency's command center for the outbreak. Dr. Peter Kilmarx, Sierra Leone
Dr. Peter Kilmarx, Director of CDC's Zimbabwe office, served on a one-month detail to Sierra Leone to lead the CDC Ebola Response Team there. Peter’s team worked on a variety of public health activities, ranging from surveillance systems and database maintenance to infection control and patient education. Read more
Dr. Nancy Knight, Nigeria
Dr. Nancy Knight, Director of CDC’s South Africa office, completed a one-month detail to Nigeria, where she served as CDC Team Lead in Nigeria’s two Ebola Emergency Operations Centers (EOCs), located in Lagos and Port Harcourt. Read more
