Fire Safety at Work
Prevent fire-related injuries and deaths in the workplace.
Building Owners and Lesses:
- Install and test sprinkler systems that meet state fire codes
- Install and test smoke alarms.
- Replace smoke alarms every 10 years.
Employers:
- Plan fire escape routes in the event of a fire.
- Conduct fire drills to practice escape routes.
- Identify a meeting location.
- Identify a person to take roll.

- 100,000 commercial fires each year
- 365,000 home fires since 2013
