Activities and Ideas

The Making Dialysis Safer for Patient Coalition offers partners many collaborative opportunities to engage with the campaign.

Below are examples of our partners’ activities:

Generate Awareness:

• Write a letter from your organization’s leadership regarding the importance of partnering with the Coalition and share with your organization’s members and/or relevant media outlets
• Use Coalition messages and materials to publish editorials, blogs, articles, and/or organizational emails on infection prevention topics
• Launch a social media campaign (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.) featuring Coalition messages
• Place the Coalition button, materials and resources on your Website
• Link to CDC Core Interventions and Guidelines and Coalition materials and resources from your Website
• Promote placement of Coalition materials in local media outlets and/or leverage media (news articles, radio interview, TV, etc.) to share Coalition messages and resources
• Send out a newsletter to your organization’s members about your Coalition activities and/or share the Coalition newsletter with your organization’s members

Educate

• Participate in Coalition calls and webinars to obtain the newest infection prevention information from CDC and dialysis experts
• Host a training session, provider webinar, or workshop session for members
• Promote and use CDC continuing education (CE) course/training for your organization’s members
• Provide Coalition materials to patients and encourage them to speak up about infection prevention
• Include Coalition messaging, materials and resources in employee educational packets
• Distribute Coalition messages, materials and resources at conferences and exhibits

Implement Recommendations:

• Implement CDC Core Interventions and Guidelines within your organization’s guidelines and policies, practices, and evaluations
• Routinely use the Coalition materials and resources to improve practices
• Routinely use Coalition patient education resources to encourage patient engagement

Share Experiences and Findings:

• Report your Coalition activities and success stories to the CDC Foundation
• Engage new organizations to become involved with the Coalition
• Deliver presentations to interested parties
• Collaborate on prevention studies
• Facilitate sharing of bloodstream infection prevention experiences among your members
