Spread the Word

If your organization partners with other organizations or agencies, ask them to spread the word about your program. They can distribute fact sheets or brochures, include an article in their newsletter, post a link on their website, or spread the word through social media.

Partner with a local media outlet to help publicize the launch of your program and encourage participation. Provide your local radio and television stations with a press release about your program.

Partner organizations might also be a viable site for your lifestyle change program and help you reach populations at risk. For instance, an organization delivering the lifestyle change program in Jackson, Tennessee, partnered with a local church to host one of its programs. Individuals in the program are now ambassadors for a healthy lifestyle, which has created social change within their congregation, such as offering healthier food options during church suppers on Sunday evenings and Wednesday night prior to bible study.

Take advantage of these, easy-to-use resources and tools to help support your program and spread the word.
