Conne Ward-Cameron is the Associate Director for Communication for CDC’s Division of Public Health Information Dissemination.

She previously worked in CDC’s Division of Public Affairs, serving as primary author of blogs and op-eds for the CDC director, focused on ensuring accurate translation of scientific concepts and data into language appropriate for a range of audiences. As a member of the OD team, she developed strong relationships with online collaborators and media partners and coordinated marketing plans on a range of CDC topics.  

Conne started her career at CDC in 2007 as a contractor in the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control. After working in the Office of Director, National Center for Zoonotic, Vector-borne and Enteric Diseases, she accepted a job in the Emergency Risk Communications Branch, Division of Emergency Operations, Office for Public Health Preparedness and Response. She has also spent two years working with the National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities, serving as the center’s news and social media lead.

In addition to that, Conne is an award-winning television director, producer and writer with more than twenty years’ experience in presenting a diverse range of messages with an eye for both accurate content and maximum impact.  She’s experienced in many forms of media: television, radio, social media, internet, newspaper and magazine.   She’s been honored by American Women in Radio and Television, the Rockefeller Foundation, the American Bar Association and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting for her work.  

Conne earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in mass communication from Florida State University.
