1. Possible Cities of Focus Group Sessions

The following cities were proposed as possible locations for focus groups, giving consideration to keeping travel times/distances as reasonable as possible for everyone.

Clinton (possibly drawing Lake City and Norris)

Oak Ridge (possibly drawing Wartburg and Oliver Springs)

Kingston (possibly drawing Oakdale, Harriman, and Rockwood)

Spring City (possibly drawing Rhea County)

Ten Mile and Meigs County. After much discussion, it was finally decideed that Spring City, Ten Mile, Rhea County, and Meigs County could not be combined.

Loudon (possibly drawing Lenoir City and Philadelphia)

Still undecided about Maryville, Alcoa, Friendsville, and Louisville

2. Identify Specific Places Conducive to Conducting Public Meetings with Contact Names

Brenda Vowell already gave Rebecca several possible places in Clinton and Norris with phone numbers.

Pete Malmquist will get with Rebecca and try to get her in contact with Harriman Hospital staff and the Roane Health Council.

Barbara Sonnenburg will get contacts for places in North Meigs County and South Roane County (Ten Mile). Primary place under consideration is Luminary Methodist Church. Possibly Spring City High School.

Brenda Vowell will get back with possible contacts for Loudon County after she talks with the Loudon County Health Department Director.

Oak Ridge will not be a problem. There are many appropriate meeting rooms including the YWCA, Civic Center, churches, Oak Ridge Mall meeting rooms. Most likely: Oak Ridge Mall meeting rooms.

3. Needs Assessment Criteria to Justify a Clinic

This discussion was as a result of Dr. Robert Jackson's presentation at the 12/4/2001 ORRHES Meeting. During his presentation, he mentioned how important it will be that certain criteria be contained in our Health Needs Assessment to justify a clinic. Kowetha Davidson said she has not yet received this criteria from Dr. Jackson, but he'll probably send it soon. Bill Carter was Dr. Jackson's contact, so we should ask Dr. Carter to request the information.

Jack Hanley will handle it (requesting Dr. Carter to send an e-mail to Dr. Jackson requesting the criteria, then notify Rebecca of the criteria necessary).

Donna Mosby adjourned the meeting at ~6:50 p.m.
