New! Public Health Assessment – Corpus Christi Refinery Row

ATSDR reviewed available environmental and health information to find out whether chemicals detected in outdoor air along Refinery Row are or have been at levels high enough to harm the health of area residents. January 2011 Exposure Investigation Report [PDF - 2.5 MB]
ATSDR worked with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Center for Environmental Health (NCEH) to find whether people living near Refinery Row were exposed to benzene and related chemicals. Area residents participated by providing blood, urine, and personal air samples.

Update To The October 2010 Progress Report
The Corpus Christi Community Meeting originally scheduled for Tuesday, November 9th, 2010 was postponed in order to allow for additional work on the Exposure Investigation (EI) report. The Community Meeting took place on January 27, 2011.
