ATSDR provides online access to complete the continuing education (CE) certificate process. This process includes registration for a course, completing the course posttest and assessment, and printing of the continuing education certificate. To receive CE, participants must complete this process online. The CE accreditation for courses remains valid for 2 years after it is announced.
Expiration
You must submit your answers online before the stated expiration date to be eligible to receive continuing education credit. Please check each course for expiration dates.
Instructions for Completing the Assessment & Posttest Online
- Read or view the environmental medicine courses online.
- Once you completed the course, access the continuing education portal
- If you have registered in this system before, please use the same login name and password. This will ensure an accurate transcript.
- Once you have logged in/registered, select the test and take it.
- Answer the questions presented (all answers are in the course material).
- To receive continuing education credit, you must answer all of the questions.
- Some questions have more than one answer. Questions with more than one answer will instruct you to "indicate all that are correct."
- Complete the course evaluation.
- Upon achieving a passing posttest score (80% of posttest responses must be correct), you will be able to immediately print your continuing education certificate from your personal transcript.

MMWR/OWCD
The ATSDR Continuing Education Program is moving from the MMWR to the OWCD system. People registered previously with MMWR will have to register anew with OWCD to take newly released courses.
Two separate transcript records will exist as a result of the transition process. Those who have taken courses using the MMWR system should contact the Environmental Medicine Continuing Education Coordinator (atsdrdtemce@cdc.gov) to address issues such as lost/forgotten passwords and course certificates. Persons who register with the OWCD system to take the newly released courses (2007 and beyond) should contact OWCD Training and Continuing Education Online (https://www2a.cdc.gov/TCEOnline/help.asp).
