ہوموفوبیا منفی رویوں اور جذبات کی اقسام کا احاطہ کرتا ہے، ہم جنس پرستی کی طرف یا ایسے لوگ جو خود کو گے (gay)، لیسبئین (lesbian)، دوجنسیت پرست (bisexual) یا خواجہ سرا (transgender) کے طور پر آگاہ کراتے ہیں یا شناخت کراتے ہیں۔[1][2]اس کو توہین، تعصب، عداوت، نفرت یا کراہت کے طور پر بیان کیا گیا ہے، جو ممکن ہے غیر منطقی خوف پر مبنی ہے اور اکثر مذہبی عقائد سے متعلقہ ہوتا ہے۔[3]
