பால் பிராண்டன்

பால் பிராண்டன் (Paul Brunton) (21 அக்டோபர் 1898 – 27 சூலை 1981), பிரிட்டனைச் சேர்ந்த தத்துவஞானி, இறை உணர்வாளர் மற்றும் உலகப் பயணி ஆவர். இதழாளார் பணியை துறந்து, யோகிகள், மற்றும் நிறை சமய ஒழுக்கமுடையவர்களுடன் கலந்து உறவாடி, அவர்களின் அரிய அருளரைகளை அறிந்தவர். மேற்கத்திய மற்றும் கிழக்கத்திய மெய்யியலை அறிய வேண்டி உலகம் முழுவதும் பயணம் மேற்கொண்டவர்.

வரலாறு

1898ல் இலண்டனில் பிறந்த பால் பிராண்டனின் இயற் பெயர் ராபல் அர்ஸ்ட் ஆகும். முதலில் இதழாளராகவும், நூல் விற்பனையாளராகவும் வாழ்கையைத் துவக்கிய இவரில் இயில்பாகவே இறையுணர்வு வளர்ந்தது. 1930 இந்தியாவிற்கு பயணம் செய்த பால் பிராண்டன், மகான்களான மெகர் பாபா, சுவாமி விசுத்தானந்தா, காஞ்சி காமகோடி பீடாதிபதி சந்திரசேகர சரசுவதி மற்றும் இரமண மகரிசி ஆகியவர்களுடன் நெருங்கிப் பழகும் வாய்ப்பு கிட்டியது. காஞ்சி சங்கராச்சாரியர் அறிவுறுத்தியதிபடி, பால் பிராண்டன் ரமண மகரிஷியை 1931இல் சந்தித்தார். பல ஆண்டுகள் ரமணருடன் தங்கி, அவரிடம் இந்திய இறையியல், மெய்யியல் தத்துவங்களில் தமக்கிருந்த ஐயங்களை களைந்து தெளிவு பெற்றார்.[1]
