சூரியகாந்திக் குடும்பம் (தாவரவியல்)
சூரியகாந்திக் குடும்பம் என்பது (இலத்தீன்:Asteraceae) பூக்கும் தாவரங்களிலுள்ள ஒரு பெரிய குடும்பம் ஆகும். இக்குடும்பத்தில் 1911 பேரினங்களும். அவற்றினுள் ஏறத்தாழ 32,913 இனங்களும் உள்ளன.[1] இக்குடும்பத் தாவரங்களுள் 138 பேரினங்களும். 708-க்கும் மேற்பட்ட சிற்றினங்களும் இந்தியாவில் உள்ளன. பெரும்பான்மையான தாவரங்கள், குறுந்தாவரங்களாகும். ஆயினும், சில புதர்களாகவும், மரங்களாகவும் காணப்படுகின்றன. ஏனெனில், இவை குறைவான வெப்பநிலையில், நீர் பற்றாக்குறை உள்ள இடங்களில் (arid)வாழ்கின்றன.[2]
