கோர்கன்

கோர்கன் (Gorgon)[1] என்போர் கிரோக்கத் தொன்மவியலில் காணப்படும் மூன்று பெண் அசுரர்கள் ஆவர். இவர்களிடம் நச்சுப்பற்களும் தலையில் மயிர்களுக்குப் பதில் கொடூரமான பாம்புகளும் காணப்படுகின்றன. அப்பாம்புகள் வெண்கல நகங்களைக் கொண்டுள்ளன. இவர்கள் போர்க்கிஸ் மற்றும் கெடோவின் பிள்ளைகள் ஆவர்.[2] ஸ்தெனோ, யூர்யலே மற்றும் மெடுசா ஆகிய இம்மூன்று சகோதரிகளுமே கோர்கன்கள். இவர்களில் மெடுசா[3] என்பவளே சக்தி வாய்ந்தவளும் மிகவும் பலம்பொருந்தியவளும் ஆவாள்.[4] இவள் பேர்சியஸ் இனால் கொல்லப்படுகின்றாள்.
