ভূকম্পমাপক
ভূকম্পমাপক (ইংরেজি: Seismometer ভূত্বকের কম্পন পরিমাপক যন্ত্র। এই যন্ত্রের সাহায্যে প্রধানত ভূমিকম্প, অগ্নুত্পাত বা অন্য যে কোনও কারণে সংঘটিত ভূত্বকীয় বা ভূগর্ভস্থ কম্পনের তীব্রতা মাপা হয়। এই কম্পন-তীব্রতার তথ্য-উপাত্ত ভূতত্ত্ববিদদেরকে ভূগর্ভের মানচিত্র বানাতে, ভূমিকম্পের উৎস এবং তীব্রতা বিশ্লেষণে সাহায্য করে।
পুরনো যুগে ব্যবহৃত ভূকম্পমাপক যন্ত্রকে সাধারণত ইংরেজিতে "সিজমোগ্রাফ" নামে ডাকা হত। অপরদিকে "সিজমোমিটার" দ্বারা বর্তমান যুগে ব্যবহৃত অত্যাধুনিক পরিমাপ এবং বিশ্লেষনের সুযোগ-সুবিধা সম্বলিত ভূকম্পমাপককে বুঝায়। আর "সিজমোস্কোপ" বা ভূকম্পবীক্ষণ যন্ত্রের শুধুমাত্র ভূমিকম্পের উপস্থিতিরর প্রমাণ পাওয়া যায়।
