বিশ্ব মহাসাগর দিবস
৮ জুন তারিখকে আন্তর্জাতিক মহাসাগর দিবস হিসেবে পালন করা হয়। ১৯৯২ সালে এই দিবস পালন শুরু হয়েছিলো। সে বছর ব্রাজিলের রিও ডি জেনেরোতে সংঘটিত ধরিত্রী সম্মেলনে এই সিদ্ধান্ত নেয়া হয়।[1] ২০০৮ সালের পর থেকে জাতিসংঘ এই দিবসকে আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে স্বীকৃতি দেয়।[2]
