বাকিংহাম প্রাসাদ
বাকিংহাম প্রাসাদ ব্রিটিশ রাজ পরিবারের লন্ডনের বাসস্থান এবং বর্তমানে পৃথিবীতে বিদ্যমান বৃহত্তম রাজকীয় প্রাসাদ।[1] প্রসাদটি রাজ পরিবারের বিভিন্ন রাজকীয় অনুষ্ঠান অবসরকালীন বিনোদনের জন্য নির্মিত হয়েছিল, বর্তমানে এটি একটি পর্যটক আকর্ষন। নির্মাণ কালে প্রাসাদটির নাম ছিল বাকিংহাম হাউজ। এটি ১৭০৩ সালে বাকিংহামের ডিউক জন শেফিল্ডের জন্য নির্মাণ করা হয়েছিল, পরবর্তীতে রাজা তৃতীয় জর্জ ১৭৬২ সালে তার ব্যক্তিগত বাসভবন হিসেবে এটি অধিকৃত করেন। পরবর্তী ৭৫ বছরে এটি আরও সম্প্রসারণ করা হয়। সম্প্রসারণের মূল দায়িত্ব পালন করেন স্থপতি জন ন্যাশ ও এডওয়ার্ড ব্লোর। তারা রাজদরবারের চারপাশে তিনটি শাখা নির্মাণ করেন। বাকিংহাম প্রাসাদ সর্বশেষ ১৮৩৭ সালে রাণী ভিক্টোরিয়ার সিংহাসন আরোহণ কালে ব্রিটিশ রাজ পরিবারের রাজকীয় কাজে ব্যবহৃত হয়েছিল। সর্বশেষ কাঠামোগত সম্প্রসারণ হয়েছিল ভিক্টোরীয় যুগে।

- Traditionally the British Royal Court is still resident at St James Palace. While foreign ambassadors assuming their new position are received by the British sovereign at Buckingham Palace, they are in fact accredited to the "Court of St James Palace". This anomaly continues for the sake of tradition as Buckingham palace is to all intents and purposes the official residence.
