প্লেগ

প্লেগ একটি জীবনঘাতী রোগ যা Yersinia pestis নামক ব্যাকটেরিয়ার দ্বারা সৃষ্ট। এই ব্যাকটেরিয়াটি ফ্রান্স-সুইস ব্যাকটেরিওলজিস্ট আলেকজেন্ডার ইরসিন কর্তৃক আবিস্কৃত। ২০০৭ সাল পর্যন্ত বিশ্ব স্বাস্থ্য সংস্থা কর্তৃক এটি বিশ্বের ভয়ংকর প্রাণঘাতী তিনটি রোগের একটি হিসেবে চিহ্নিত ছিলো।[1]

উপসর্গ বা লক্ষণ
  • হঠাৎ জ্বর হয়। রোগী অত্যন্ত অসুস্থ ও দূর্বলতা বোধ করে।
  • এ রোগে আক্রান্ত হওয়ার ফলে রোগীর লিম্ফনোডগুলো ব্লক হয়ে ফুলে উঠে। এ ধরনের প্লেগকে বুবনিক প্লেগ বলে।
  • বুবনিক প্লেগ দেহে ছড়িয়ে পড়লে পরবর্তীতে নিউমোনিয়া দেখা দেয়। একে নিউমোনিয়া প্লেগ বলে।
