পলিবিয়াস
পলিবিয়াস (ইংরেজি: Polybius) (/pəˈlɪbiəs/; গ্রিক: Πολύβιος, Polýbios; আনু. 200 – আনু. 118 BC) একজন রোমান দার্শনিক। তার জন্ম মেসিডনিয়ায় খ্রিস্টপূর্ব ২০৪ অব্দে। রোমান আইন এবং রাজনৈতিক ব্যবস্থার ইতিহাস সংরক্ষণে তার অবদান স্মরণীয়। খ্রিস্টপূর্ব ১৬৮ অব্দে রোমানদের দ্বারা গ্রিস আক্রমণ হয়। সেই সময় আরও প্রায় এক হাজার গ্রিক পণ্ডিতের সাথে তিনিও বন্দি হন। তিনি ১৬ বছর ইতালিতে অন্তরিন ছিলেন। এ সময় তিনি রোমান শাসকের অংশ Aimilius, Sciplo, Aemilianus প্রমুখের সহচার্য পান। পরবর্তীতে পলিবিয়াস গ্রিক দর্শনের ইতিহাসবিদ হিসেবে খ্যাতি পান। তিনি খ্রিস্টপূর্ব ১২২ অব্দে মারা যান।
