পঞ্চতন্ত্র সংস্কৃত ভাষায় রচিত একটি প্রাচীন গ্রন্থ ৷ রচয়িতা কবি বিষ্ণু শর্মা ৷ তবে এই গ্রন্থের মূল পাণ্ডুলিপি পাওয়া যায় নি ৷ নানা উপদেশমূলক গল্পের সঙ্কলন এই গ্রন্থ ৷ জীবনের পথের নানা উপদেশ এই গ্রন্থের নানা গল্পের উদাহরণের মধ্যে তুলে ধরা হয়েছে ৷ গ্রন্থটি ৫ টি তন্ত্রে বিভক্ত ৷ এগুলি হল :

- কাকোলুকীয়
- লব্ধপ্রনাশ
