থেসেউস

গ্রিক পুরাণে, থেসেউস (প্রাচীন গ্রিক ভাষায়: Θησεύς থ্যাসেউ্যস্‌) ছিল আইগেউস ও আইথ্রার একমাত্র পুত্র।[1] থেসেউস ছিল একজন বিখ্যাত বীর।[2] সে মিনোতাউর নামে ভয়ংকর এক রাক্ষসকে বধ করে। এছাড়া সে ক্রোম্মিয়োনীয় শূকরীকে (একে ফাইয়াও বলা হয়) বধ করে। থেসেউস প্রথমে আরেসের কন্যা আমাজনদের রাণী হিপ্পোলিতাকে বিয়ে করে। তাদের হিপ্পোলিতুস নামে একটিমাত্র পুত্র ছিল। হিপ্পোলিতার মৃত্যুর পরে থেসেউস ক্রেতের রাজা মিনসের কন্যা ফাইদ্রাকে বিয়ে করে। এরপর ফাইদ্রা সপত্নীপুত্র হিপ্পোলিতুসের প্রেমে পরে তার মৃত্যুর কারণ হয়। ফাইদ্রা ও থেসেউসের আকামাস ও দেমোফোন নামে দুইটি পুত্র ছিল।
