জাপানের সম্রাট
জাপানের সম্রাট হলেন জাপান রাষ্ট্রের প্রধান। ১৯৪৭ সালের সংবিধান অনুযায়ী, তিনি "রাষ্ট্র ও জনগণের ঐক্যের প্রতীক" এবং তার "সরকার সম্পর্কিত কোন ক্ষমতা" নেই। ঐতিহাসিকভাবে, তিনি শিন্তৌ ধর্মের সর্বোচ্চ কর্তৃপক্ষ। জাপানি ভাষায় সম্রাটকে টেন্নো (天皇) বলা হয়, যার অর্থ "স্বর্গীয় সার্বভৌম"। ইংরাজিতে আগে মিকাডো (帝) শব্দটি ব্যবহার করা হত, এখন আর তা করা হয় না।
