গানপাউডার প্লট
গানপাউডার প্লট (Gunpowder Plot) ব্রিটেনের রাজা ১ম জেমস-কে হত্যার ব্যর্থ ষড়যন্ত্র। ১৬০৫ সালের ৫ই নভেম্বর ব্রিটিশ পার্লামেন্ট ভবন গানপাউডার বিস্ফোরণের সাহায্যে ধ্বংস করার পরিকল্পনা করা হয়। কিন্তু এক চক্রান্তকারী গাই ফক্স (Guy Fawkes) ধরা পড়ে যায় এবং নির্যাতনের ফলে সে অন্যান্য চক্রান্তকারীদের নাম ফাঁস করে দেয়। বিচারে গাই ফক্স ও অন্যান্যদের ফাঁসি হয়। ব্রিটেনে ও অন্যান্য কমনওয়েলথ দেশে আজও ৫ই নভেম্বর গাই ফক্স দিবস হিসেবে পালিত হয়।
