অশ্মমন্ডল বলতে প্রাকৃতিকভাবে সৃষ্ট গ্রহ-উপগ্রহসমূহের এমন একটি স্তরকে বোঝানো হয় যেটি মূলত বহিরাবরণ হিসাবে কাজ করে থাকে। পৃথিবীর অশ্মমন্ডল ভূত্বক থেকে শুরু হয়ে ম্যান্টেলের উপরিভাগ পর্যন্ত বিস্তৃত।[1]
