What
About two out of three Native Americans with kidney failure have diabetes. However, the rate of diabetes-related kidney failure in Native Americans also has declined at the fastest rate for any U.S. racial/ethnic group. Population-based approaches to diabetes management and improvements in clinical care, by the Indian Health Service, led to this remarkable decrease and can be used as a model for other populations, according to the latest Vital Signs report.
