In this task, you will be creating a directory containing one folder to hold your compressed ASCII data files, accompanying SAS programs, and documentation and another folder in which to save the SAS datasets. The structure used here is recommended as it will be used throughout the tutorial. If you decide to use a different arrangement of folders, then you will need to change the path to the dataset in the sample programs.
You will need to include the path to the dataset you wish to use in every program. By creating a folder directly in the C drive, and thereby having a short file path to the dataset, you won't have a long file path to type or remember.
