Federal agency releases findings of cancer data review for Warminster, Horsham and Warrington, PA

The Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) released the findings of its cancer data review for Warminster, Horsham and Warrington Townships, Pennsylvania today, August 18, 2016.

Residents in this area have raised concerns about environmental contamination and potential health problems for a number of years.

To address recent community concerns about cancer in the area, ATSDR and the Pennsylvania Department of Health reviewed information about cancer diagnoses for the communities living in zip codes surrounding the Former Naval Air Warfare Center in Warminster, Bucks County, PA and the Willow Grove Naval Air and Air Reserve Station, Horsham, Montgomery County, PA for the period 1985 to 2013.

“We hope that this cancer data summary helps address some of the questions people have raised to health officials about cancer rates in the area. It represents a first step at screening information available from the Pennsylvania state cancer registry,” said Lora Siegmann Werner, ATSDR Regional Director, Region 3 in Philadelphia, PA.
