ఒక జీవి మరణించినప్పుడు ఆ జీవి జ్ఞాపకార్ధం నిర్మించబడిన కట్టడాన్ని సమాధి అంటారు. శ్మశానంలో శవాన్ని పూడ్చిన చోట నిర్మించబడిన కట్టడాన్ని సమాధి అంటారు. శ్మశానంలో అనేక సమాధులు నిర్మించబడి ఉంటాయి.
