మైనం
మైనం లేదా మైనమును ఇంగ్లీషులో Wax అంటారు. ప్రస్తుతం మైనపు దీపాలు (Candles) తయారు చేయడానికి మైనం, ముఖ్యంగా పారఫిన్ మైనం (Paraffin wax) ఎక్కువగా వాడుతున్నారు. ఇది తక్కువ ఉష్ణోగ్రత వద్ద ఘన రూపంలో ఉంటుంది. దీనిని వెలిగించినపుడు ద్రవ రూపంలోకి మారి ఆవిరైపోతుంది.హిందుస్థానీ సంగీత వాద్యపరికరం షెహనాయ్ ఎనిమిదో రంద్రానికి మైనం పూసి స్వరస్థాయిని క్రమబద్దం చేస్తుంటారు.కార్బన్ పేపర్లో ఒక వైపు తేలికపాటు అయిన సిర మైనం ద్వారా పూయబడి ఉంటుంది.
