మాంసము

మాంసము లేదా మాంసను లేదా కూరాకు లేదా నంజరి అనునది జంతువుల నుండి లభించు ఆహారపదార్థము. సాధారణంగా ఇది ఆయా జంతువుల శరీరములోని మాంసము.

వ్యావహారిక పదము

అరబ్బీలో మాంసాన్ని "లెహమ్" లేదా "లహమ్" అని పలుకుతారు, అలాగే పర్షియన్ భాషలో "గోష్త్" అని వ్యవహరిస్తారు. వ్యవహారికంలో ఈ "గోష్త్" రాను రానూ "గోష్" గా మారింది. సాహిత్యంలోనూ గ్రాంధికం లోనూ "గోష్" అనగా "ప్రస్తావించడం" అనే అర్థంలో వాడుతారు. నేడు "గోష్త్" అంటే ఏమిటో చాలామంది ప్రజలకు తెలియదు.
