పారాథైరాయిడ్ గ్రంధి
పారాథైరాయిడ్ గ్రంధి (Parathyroid gland) ఒక విధమైన వినాళ గ్రంధి. ఇవి నాలుగు గ్రంధులు థైరాయిడ్ గ్రంధికి అంటిపెట్టుకొని ఉంటాయి. ఇవి పారాథార్మోన్ (Parathyroid Hormone or PTH) ను స్రవిస్తాయి. ఇదొక పాలిపెప్టైడు హార్మోను, దీని అణుభారము 9,500 నుండి 15,000 ఉంటుంది. ఇది 17 అమినో ఆమ్లాలను కలిగి, ఒక అంత్య అమైనో ఆమ్లము ఎలైన్ తో కూడి ఉంటుంది.

ఈ గ్రంధి కణరీత్యా ఉపకణాలతో నిర్మితమైన స్తంభాల వంటి నిర్మాణాలను, వాని మధ్య రక్తకోటరాలను కలిగివుంటుంది. వీనిలో మూడు రకాలైన ప్రత్యేక కణాలుంటాయి. ఇవి ముఖ్యకణాలు (Chief cells), ఆక్సీఫిల్ కణాలు (Oxyphil cells), మధ్యాంతర కణాలు (Intermediate cells). వీనిలోని ముఖ్యకణాలు పారాథార్మోన్ ను స్రవిస్తాయి.
