త్రిపథగ
మూడు లోకాల్లో పారే నది కాబట్టి గంగానదిని త్రిపథగ అంటారు.
స్వర్గలోకం, భూలోకం, పాతాళలోకం అనేవి ఆ మూడు లోకాలు.
- స్వర్గలోకంలో మందాకిని,
- భూలోకంలో గంగ మరియు అలకనంద
- పాతాళలోకంలో భోగవతి
అని గంగానదికి పేర్లు.
