అహంకారము

అహంకారము, దర్పము లేదా గర్వము ఒక విధమైన ఆలోచన పద్ధతి. తెలుగు భాషలో దీనికి Pride, haughtiness. అహంకారము అనే అర్ధాలున్నాయి. గర్వభంగము అనగా dishonour, degradation, humiliation, disgrace. గర్వించు or గర్వపడు v. n. అనగా To be proud. గర్వపడుతున్నవాడిని గర్వి or గర్వితుడు n. A proud man అంటారు.[1] గర్వము లేనివాడిని నిగర్వి అంటారు.

దర్పము పదానికి కూడా వివిధ ప్రయోగాలున్నాయి.[2] దర్పము అనగా [ darpamu ] darpamu. [Skt.] n. Pride, passion, anger. Irritability, touchiness. గర్వము. కొవ్వు దర్పమే యశస్సుగా భావించినారు they prided themselves on their fierceness. దర్పము చేయు to boil over, to be furious or proud. దర్పించు darpinṭsu. v. n. To become proud, to be insolent, గర్వించు, త్రుళ్లు. దర్పితము darpitamu. adj. Proud, arrogant. గర్వము గల. దర్పితుడు darpituḍu. n. A proud man. దర్పోద్ధతి or దర్ఫోన్నతి darp-ōddhati. n. The height of insolence of pride. దర్పకుడు darpakuḍu. n. The inflamer: an epithet of Cupid మన్మధుడు. దర్పక శాస్త్రము the Art of Love.
