முயாய் தாய்

முயாய் தாய் (Muay Thai) என்பது ஒரு சண்டை விளையாட்டு. தாய்லாந்தை தாயகமாகக் கொண்ட இது பல நெருக்கிப் பிடிக்கும் நுட்பங்களுடன் தாக்கும் நுட்பம் கொண்டது. தாய்லாந்தின் தேசிய விளையாட்டான இது அண்டை நாடுகளிலுள்ள சண்டைக் கலைகளுடன் ஒத்த தன்மை கொண்டது.[1][2][3][4]

முயாய் எனும் சொல் ஒன்றாக கட்டுவதற்கு எனும் பொருள்படும் மாவ்யா என்ற சமக்கிருதச் சொல்லிலிருந்து உருவானது. முயாய் தாய் எட்டு மூட்டுகளின் கலை அல்லது எட்டு மூட்டுகளின் அறிவியல் எனவும் அழைக்கப்படும்.
