கடல் மட்ட உயர்வு

உலக அளவிலான கடல்களில் நீரின் அளவு அதிகரிப்பதே கடல் மட்ட உயர்வு ஆகும்.இதன் விளைவாக உலக சராசரி கடல் மட்டத்தில் அதிகரிப்பு ஏற்படுகிறது. கடல் மட்டத்தின் எழுச்சி பொதுவாக உலகளாவிய காலநிலை மாற்றம் காரணமாக கடல் நீரில் வெப்ப விரிவாக்கம் மற்றும் நிலத்தில் பனித் தாள் மற்றும் பனிப்பாறைகள் உருகுவதன் மூலம் ஏற்படுகிறது. கடலில் மிதக்கும் பனித் தாள் அல்லது பனிப்பாறைகளின் உருகல்கள் கடல் மட்டங்களை சற்று அதிகரிக்கிறது.[2]
