ஒற்றைத் தண்டூர்தி
ஒற்றைத் தண்டூர்தி, (ஆங்கிலம்:monorail) தனது ஆதரவுக்கும் வழிநடத்தலுக்கும் வழமையான இரட்டைத் தண்டவாளங்களன்றி ஒரே தண்டவாளத்தைப் பயன்படுத்தும் இருப்புவழி போக்குவரத்து அமைப்பாகும். 1897இல் ஒற்றைத் தண்டில் தொங்கியவாறு உயரத்தில் சென்ற அமைப்பொன்றை நிறுவிய செருமானியப் பொறியாளர் இதனை மோனோரெயில் என அழைத்தார்.[1] இத்தகையப் போக்குவரத்து பெரும்பாலும் தொடர்வண்டி எனவே அழைக்கப்படுகிறது.[2]
பொதுவழக்கில் உயரத்தில் அமைக்கப்படும் எந்தவொரு பயணியர் போக்குவரத்து அமைப்பும் ஒற்றைத் தண்டூர்தி என அழைக்கப்பட்டாலும்[3] முறையான வரையறைப்படி இது ஒரு தண்டவாளத்தில் இயங்கும் அமைப்புக்களை மட்டுமே குறிக்கிறது.[note 1]
