எசியோடு

எசியோடு (ஹெசியட், /ˈhiːsiəd/ அல்லது /ˈhɛsiəd/;[1]) கி.மு 750இலிருந்து 650 வரை செயற்பட்டதாகக் கருதப்படும் கிரேக்க கவிஞர் ஆவார். இவர் ஹோமரின் சமகாலத்தவராக அறிஞர்களால் கருதப்படுகிறார்.[2][3] ஓர் கவிஞர் தன்னையும் ஒரு கருப்பொருளாகக் கருதிய ஐரோப்பிய கவிதைகளில் இவருடையது முதலாவதாகும். தன்னுடையப் பாடல்களில் தனக்கென குறிப்பிடத்தக்க பாத்திரத்தை கொண்டிருந்தார்.[4] கிரேக்க சமய பழக்கங்களை நிறுவுவதற்கு இவருக்கும் ஓமருக்கும் முக்கிய பங்குள்ளதாக பண்டைய எழுத்தாளர்கள் கருதுகின்றனர்.[5]கிரேக்கத் தொன்மவியல், வேளாண்மை நுட்பங்கள், துவக்க கால பொருளியல் கருத்துக்கள் (இவர் முதல் பொருளியலாளராக அடையாளப்படுத்தப்படுகிறார்),[6] வழக்கொழிந்த கிரேக்க வானியல் மற்றும் பண்டைய நேரப்பதிவு போன்றவற்றிற்கான முதன்மை மூலமாக தற்கால அறிஞர்கள் மதிப்பிடுகின்றனர்.

"எலிகான் மலையில் கடவுளர்களின் நடனம்" - பெர்ட்டெல் தோர்வால்ட்சன் (1807). எசியோடு ஹெலிகான் மலையில் இருந்தபோது கடவுளர்களின் அருளைப் பெற்றதாக குறிப்பிடுகிறார்.
