அல் சுஃபி

அல் சுபி என அழைக்கப்படும் 'அப்தல் ரகுமான் அல்-சுஃபி (Abd al-Rahman al-Sufi, பாரசீகம்: عبدالرحمن صوفی; டிசம்பர் 9, 903 – மே 25, 986) என்பவர் பாரசீக[1][2] வானியல் வல்லுநர் ஆவார். இவர் அப்தல் ரகுமான் அபு அல்-உசைன், 'அப்துல் ரகுமான் சுஃபி, அசோபி என்ற பெயர்களிலும் அறியப்படுகிறார். இவரது நினைவாக நிலவுக் குழி ஒன்றுக்கு அசோபி எனவும், சிறிய கோள் ஒன்றுக்கு "12621 அல்சுபி" எனவும் பெயரிடப்பட்டுள்ளது. இவர் நாட்டுப்புறவியலிலும் தொன்மவியலிலும் கணிதத்திலும் ஆர்வம் கொண்டிருந்ததால் வானியல் ஆய்வில் ஈடுபட்டார். கிபி 964 இல் இவர் "நிலையான உடுக்கள் பற்றிய நூல்" ஒன்றை எழுதினார். இந்நூலில் அவர் தனது கண்டுபிடிப்புகளை எழுத்திலும், படங்களாகவும் தந்திருந்தார்.[3][4] இவர் 1018 விண்மீன்களின் பருமைகளையும் (Magnitudes) நிறங்களையும் இருப்பிடங்களையும் அடக்கிய அட்டவணையை உருவாக்கி வெளியிட்டார்.
