அக்ரிகோலா, நீயஸ் ஜூலியஸ்

அக்ரிகோலா, நீயஸ் ஜூலியஸ் (Gnaeus Julius Agricola) என்பவர் உரோமைப் பேரரசின் தளபதியாவார். இவர் பிரிட்டனில் உரோமானியர்களின் ஆளுயராக இருந்தவர். இவர் வடவேல்சிலிருந்த ஆதிக் குடிமக்களையும், கிளைடு ஆற்றின் கடல்வாய்க்கு வடக்கே இருந்த காலிடோனியர்களையும் வென்றார். வடபிரிட்டனில் கிளைடு கால்வாய்க்கும் போர்த் கால்வாய்க்கும் இடையே பல கோட்டைகளைக் கட்டி பிரிட்டனின் தற்காப்புக்களை பலப்படுத்தினார். இவருடைய வாழ்க்கை வரலாற்றை இவரின் மருமகனான டாசிட்டஸ் என்னும் புகழ் பெற்ற வரலாற்றாசிரியர் ஏழுதியுள்ளார்.[1]
