ശബരിമല

കേരളത്തിലെ പത്തനംതിട്ട ജില്ലയിൽ റാന്നി താലൂക്കിൽ പെരിനാട് വില്ലേജിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന ഒരു മലയാണ് ശബരിമല.[1] പത്തനംതിട്ട നഗരത്തിൽ നിന്ന് 72 കിലോമീറ്ററും[2] റാന്നിയിൽനിന്ന് 60 കിലോമീറ്ററും അകലെയാണ് ഈ മല സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നത്. റാന്നിയിൽ നിന്ന് പമ്പവരെയാണ് റോഡ് ഉള്ളത്. ശബരിമല ധർമ്മശാസ്താക്ഷേത്രം ഇവിടെയാണ് സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നത്. ഇത് പെരിയാർ കടുവാ സങ്കേതത്തിൽ പശ്ചിമഘട്ടത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായാണ് നില കൊള്ളുന്നത്.[3] സമുദ്രനിരപ്പിൽ നിന്നും ഏകദേശം 468 മീറ്റർ ഉയരത്തിലായാണ് ശബരിമല.[4] പമ്പയിൽ നിന്നും ശബരിമലയിലേക്കുള്ള പാതയാണ് സ്വാമി അയ്യപ്പൻ റോഡ്.
