തീരത്തോടു് ചേർന്നുകിടക്കുന്ന കടൽപരപ്പുിനെയാണു് ലഗൂൺ എന്ന് പറയുന്നതു്. താരതമ്യേന കടൽ വെള്ളത്തിന്റെയത്ര ഉപ്പ് ഈ വെള്ളത്തിനുണ്ടാകില്ല.
