മൗറിത്താനിയ

വടക്കുപടിഞ്ഞാറേ ആഫ്രിക്കയിലെ ഒരു രാജ്യമാണ് മൗറിത്താനിയ (അറബിക്: موريتانيا‎, ഔദ്യോഗികനാമം: ഇസ്ലാമിക് റിപ്പബ്ലിക്ക് ഓഫ് മൗറിത്താനിയ). അറ്റ്ലാന്റിക്ക് സമുദ്രം (പടിഞ്ഞാറ്), സെനെഗൾ (തെക്കുപടിഞ്ഞാറ്), മാലി (കിഴക്ക്, തെക്കുകിഴക്ക്), അൾജീരിയ (വടക്കുപടിഞ്ഞാറ്), പശ്ചിമ സഹാറയുടെ മൊറോക്കൻ അധീനതയിലുള്ള ഭൂപ്രദേശം (വടക്കുപടിഞ്ഞാറ്) എന്നിവയാണ് മൗറിത്താനിയയുടെ അതിർത്തികൾ. പുരാതന ബെർബെർ രാജ്യമായ മൗറിത്തേനിയൻ സാമ്രാജ്യത്തിൽ നിന്നുമാണ് രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ പേരിന്റെ ഉൽഭവം. അറ്റ്ലാന്റിക്ക് തീരത്തുള്ള നുവാച്ചൂത്ത് ആണ് മൗറിത്താനിയയുടെ തലസ്ഥാനം (ഏറ്റവും വലിയ നഗരവും നുവാച്ചൂത്ത് തന്നെ).
