പശ്ചിമേഷ്യ

ഏഷ്യൻ ഭൂഖണ്ഡത്തിന്റെ പടിഞ്ഞാറൻ ഭാഗത്തെയാണ് പശ്ചിമേഷ്യ എന്നു പറയുന്നത്. മിഡിൽ ഈസ്റ്റിൽ നിന്നും ആഫ്രിക്കൻ രാജ്യമായ ഈജിപ്റ്റ്‌ ഒഴികെയുള്ള പ്രദേശമാണിത്. തെക്കുപടിഞ്ഞാറൻ ഏഷ്യ അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ദക്ഷിണ പശ്ചിമേഷ്യ എന്നത് ഏഷ്യയുടെ പടിഞ്ഞാറൻ ഉപഭൂഭാഗത്തെ പ്രതിനിധീകരിക്കുന്നു. മധ്യപൂർവ്വേഷ്യയുമായി കൂടിച്ചേർന്ന പ്രദേശമായതിനാൽ ഈ ആശയം പരിമിതമായി മാത്രമേ ഉപയോഗിക്കപ്പെടുന്നുള്ളു. പടിഞ്ഞാറൻ ഏഷ്യയിൽ ധാരണഗതിയിൽ ഈജിപ്തിന്റെ ഭൂരിപക്ഷം പ്രദേശങ്ങളും ഒഴിവാക്കപ്പെടുകയും കസാക്കസ് ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നതാണ് പ്രധാന വ്യത്യാസം.
