ಮಂಜುಗಡ್ಡೆ

ಮಂಜುಗಡ್ಡೆಯು (ನೀರ್ಗಲ್ಲು) ಘನ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಾಗಿ ಪರಿವರ್ತಿತವಾಗಿರುವ ನೀರು.[1][2] ಮಣ್ಣಿನ ಕಣಗಳು ಅಥವಾ ಗಾಳಿಯ ಗುಳ್ಳೆಗಳಂತಹ ಕಲ್ಮಶಗಳು ಇರುವುದನ್ನು ಆಧರಿಸಿ, ಇದು ಪಾರದರ್ಶಕವಾಗಿ ಅಥವಾ ಹೆಚ್ಚುಕಡಿಮೆ ನೀಲಿ ಮಿಶ್ರಿತ ಬಿಳಿ ಬಣ್ಣದ್ದಾಗಿ ಕಾಣಬಹುದು.

ಮಂಜುಗಡ್ಡೆಯು ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲ್ಮೈ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೇರಳವಾಗಿದೆ – ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಧ್ರುವ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮತ್ತು ಹಿಮರೇಖೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ[3] – ಮತ್ತು ಅವಕ್ಷೇಪನ ಹಾಗೂ ಶೇಖರಣೆಯ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ರೂಪವಾಗಿ ಭೂಮಿಯ ಜಲ ಚಕ್ರ ಹಾಗೂ ವಾಯುಗುಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಪಾತ್ರವಹಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಇದು ಹಿಮಹಲ್ಲೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಆಲಿಕಲ್ಲಾಗಿ ಬೀಳುತ್ತದೆ ಅಥವಾ ಘನ ಇಬ್ಬನಿ, ಹಿಮಬಿಳಲುಗಳು ಅಥವಾ ಮಂಜುಗಡ್ಡೆ ಮೊನೆಗಳಾಗಿ ದೊರಕುತ್ತದೆ.
