Registered psychiatric nurse
A registered psychiatric nurse (RPN) is a nurse who specializes in caring for those with mental health needs. Psychiatric nurses assist the interdisciplinary team in the treatment of the patient's psychiatric illness and symptoms. Psychiatric nurses are able to work in a variety of locations including: hospitals, outpatient facilities, health departments, mental health agencies and long-term care centers. [1]
